Learning and Personal Development

Lecture: Tuesday 3rd October at 9.15am in C22 followed by seminars.
Main topic: Introduction to the module, learning.
The reason for me is that I want to achieve a high ability of the English, improve my English, and develop competence in new subject of skill or knowledge. Complete the studying of the university, to achieve a high grade of the course, to increase in competence in existing work. Also a gain in rewards associated with the future life, in financial, psychological or social. For personally, I do not want to disappointed my parents, they cost a lot of money to pay the fees let me go to the university, so I have responsibility to complete the course.
2) What is learning?
“I am always willing to learn, though I do not always like being taught.” Winston Churchill
In my opinion, I think learning is achieved a new level of studying or a new skill and knowledge through different kind of methods, also the learning can be different ways, such as the university lectures and work experience.
3) What you will achieve during the university or what you hope to achieve in the university?
• Deep understanding of the knowledge claims.
• Radical critique of the knowledge claims.
• Developing competence to conduct that critique in the company of others.
• Involvement in determining the shape and direction of that critique.
• The capacity for the student to critically evaluate his or her own achievements.
• The opportunity to engage in that inquiry in a process of open dialogue and cooperation.
Learning diaries:
It is a good way to remember your experience of learning, write your own learning diary every week, understand what you learn during the week and find out some difficulties problem to solve it. It is helpful for the learning in the university.
