National holidays and calendar feast days in Lithuania

Palm Sunday- commemorates Christ‘s triumphal entry into Jerusalem. This is a day when the reving nature.
It is a long standing tradition to attend church with a bunch of green twigs.
The Holy Week- it is a time for Spring cleaning.
1. On Good Friday people conduct in a sesions manner, children are forbidden to make a noise.
2. On Holy Saturday people do to the church to obtain blest fire and water. Eggs are dyed and designs are scratched on them.
3. On Easter morning people go to church and after the Holly Mass every hurries home. People strike one egg against another to find the strongest ones. After it children rolling egg.
Shrove Tuesday
It is celebrate on Tuesday, the Eve of Ash Wedneswday, to match the winter‘s end. People make the More and they burn it. Everyone eat pan cakes and with masks they go hause from hause and ask pan cakes or something else.
Christmas Eve (December 24- 25)
Christmas Eve custumes center round the celebration of the birth of infant Jesus.
It is a day of through cleaning, both inside and outside the house. People try to be nice to each other, pay all their debts and have confesions with the priest.
There are 12 dishes on the table, one dish for one mouth. Every one draw out stalks of kay from under the tablecloth.
