Homeland Lithuania

The topic of my speech is Lithuania . It is our homeland and it is meaningful place for every lithuanian. In 13th centrury, then Mindaugas became the first king , was opened one of the first pages of Lithuania history. Gediminas is credited with the foundation of Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania in 1323. In these years Lithuania was one of the mighty countries. Alhought the Russian Empire occupied the country in 1795 and it was only in 1918 . In 1940 Lithuania was incorporated into the USSR. In spite of this independence was restored in 1990. So now we are separate and free country.
Lithuania is republic. The president`s term of office lasts five years in regard to it, week before was elected the new president Rolandas Paksas. People believe in better life and they believed in his promises. I don`t know why but he don`t impose to me. Maybe because he`s to young, but mainly it`s advantage or maybe because ex-president was good and makes a lot of useful things to Lithuania. The prime minister is Algirdas Brazauskas. He is good politician it follows that he`s popular enought. There are a lot of parties in Lithuania like Conservatives, Christian Democratic Party, Centre Union Party, New Union and others. So all these people try one`s best to help lithuanian and make their lifes better. There are about 3,7 millions people in Lithuania. The population is falling down, because lots of people go to other countries, also mortality is very high, whereas birthrate isn`t...
