Greece and Lithuania

Greece has the longest coastline in Europe. The mainland has mountains, forests and lakes, but the country is well known for the thousands of islands dotting the blue Aegean Sea to the east, the Mediterranean Sea to the south and the Ionian Sea to the west.
Lithuania, country of northeastern Europe, the southernmost and largest of the three Baltic states. Lithuania is bounded by Latvia to the north, Belarus to the east and south, Poland and the detached Russian oblast of Kaliningrad to the southwest, and the Baltic Sea to the west.
The colors stands for the sea’s and the sky. Flagmeans Greek orthodoxy which is religion. The ninestrips stand for the nine syllables of the Greekmotto which is ,, Freedom or death’’.
The flag of Lithuania consists of a horizontal tricolor of yellow, green, and red. Yellow represents the sun, green symbolizes the beauty of nature and red stands for the land and the blood spilled for Lithuania.
According to a widespread popular belief, the word Lietuva (Lithuania) originated from the Lithuanian words lyti (to rain) and lietus (rain).
The English name Greece derive from the Latin name Graecia (Greek), literally meaning 'the land of the Greeks', which was used by Ancient Romans to denote the area of modern-day Greece.
