England has it's own Royal family with Queen Elizabeth 2 being the present monarch. England is about 700 miles long and 300 miles wide, with the population around 50,000,000. Its capital city is London with other major cities being Birmingham, Liverpool, Manchester, Sheffield, Leeds, and Bristol. The main language of England is, obviously, English. Its natural features include low rolling hills broken by the Pennine Range. There are also many large rivers that run through England with some of them being the Trent, Tyne, and the Thames. Farming is a major trade in England along with fishing and the mining of iron and tin.
This is a land of blue mountains and forest parks mazy lakes and windswept moors, and white sand beaches. Throughout Northern Ireland there are many small towns scattered along the countryside. Because it is only 5,500 square miles in area - about the size of Connecticut - you can see most of the main attractions within a week and not clock up more than 500 miles. There are the historic cities of Belfast, Derry, and Armagh to visit. Northern Ireland also has many miles of coastline with some very good fishing.
Scotland forms the northern part of the island of Great Britain. It is 31,510 square miles and includes over 750 islands. The population is around 5,102,400. The official language of Scotland is English, although Gaelic is also spoken. Three of the major cities of Scotland are Glasgow, Edinburgh, and Dundee.
Wales is another one of the four constituent nations, which form the United Kingdom. The population is about 2,798,200 and is 8,015 square miles. The Languages spoken here are English and Welsh. The Capital City of Wales is Cardiff. Other parts of Wales include North Wales, Mid Wales, South Wales, and West Wales.
