Lithuanian nature

Lithuania has gorgeous nature. The shores of Lithuania are washed by the only sea that is in Lithuania and that is the Baltic Sea. Lithuania doesn't have big mountains, or a large land surface compared with other nordic countries, but they consist of fascinating woods, beautiful rivers and lakes and amazing animals that live in our forests. The longest-flowing rivers in Lithuania are the Nemunas which flows 475 kilometres, the Neris which flows 235 kilometres and the Venta which flows 161 kilometres through Lithuania. Nevėžis, the 7th longest river in Lithuania, flows 209 kilometres and flows through Panevežys. In Lithuania, there are 2830 lakes/pounds/swamps and 1100 of which are artificial ponds. The longest lake is Asvėja which is 29,7 kilometres long, the deepest lake would be Tauragnas which is 62,5 kilometres deep and the biggest lake would be Drūkšiai with is 4479 hectares and 33,3 meters in length. About 16,000 years ago when the glacier covered Lithuania it didn't have any wildlife or forests because of the cold complex grounds but after some years when the ground cooled off and trees started to grow and because no one lived in Lithuania at that time Lithuania was a big forest. Then nomads came to Lithuania and started to cut down our forests to make room for farms and huts for people to live in.
