Cooperative learning

The concept of cooperative learning is alien to all of those who were taught the traditional way, but it offers children of modern society the adventure of finding their own answers.
The idea that students are empty containers which the teacher fills with knowledge doesn’t work in today’s changing world. Now children should find the information themselves. The facts are available in the libraries on CD ROMS and on the Internet. Students only need the skills to find this required information, to use it and to think creatively in order to solve the problems of our world. Also they should participate actively in discussing the topic and shaping their own knowledge and ideas.
In cooperative learning classes, the traditional classroom layout is abandoned. Children do not sit in straight rows of desks facing the teacher, but rather face one another to make it easier to share ideas. Pupils work in pairs, then in threes, and finally...
