Greece mainland and Greek islands are one of the most popular tourism destinations in Europe. In fact, Greece comes in the 15th place in the world rating of tourist destinations, since according to the National Statistical Service of Greece, it receives more than 15 million tourists every year, after countries such as the USA, China, Spain and Great Britain1.
Greece is a famous country, popular for its clean beaches and its long history, traditions and culture. There are hundreds of archeological and historical sites to visit in Greece that gloriously depict the country’s past. Its landscape is mainly mountainous and the terrain is not very fertile, except for some valleys scattered along the Greek mainland. However, Greece is surrounded by water, in particular the Aegean and the Ionian Sea. The country consists of more than 1.400 islands and islets, but only 169 of them are inhabited. These Greek islands from, one by one, a beauty of nature. They are the most popular Greek destinations, especially in summer time.
The island of Corfu in know as one of the most beautiful islands of Greece. The island was ruled by many countries like France or England. Today many of the architecture styles of these countries can bee seen on Corfu, Greece. The most beautiful in the capital of the island but other villages are also jewels2.
Benitses village in Corfu is the picturesque fishing village lays 13, 5 kilometers south of Corfu town (the capital of Corfu island) and has a population of about 800 inhabitants. Since a few years, the village has become a high touristy resort; despite that fact, the streets of the old village have kept their authentic colors and atmosphere.
