To begin with, one of the reason, why teenagers are so obsessed with trendy items is that they try to make an impression on the people by showing them how great they look and how wealthy they are. There are many similar situations at school. For example girl, whose’ parents are wealthy will not wear cheap, out of fashion clothes, because she wants to show to everyone her high social status and make people to respect her. Wearing trendy items can also help to find new friends. If teen goes to new school it will be always easier for him to find more friends if his appearance is trendy and harder if it’s not.
Next reason of teenagers obsession with trendy items is trying to be like everyone and don’t stand out from the crowd. For instance if teen is a shy and insecure person he will try to fit in with everyone else so he won’t be an outcast. This way also helps them to protect themselves...
