The whole concept of taking a selfie is appealing due to it‘s ability to create the desired picture,one where only you can notice your own flaws and hide them - put on the rose-tinted glasses of selfies – that‘s why it‘s such a comforting way for a self-conscious teenager to deal with their insecurities - by creating the perfect flawless picture to admire for themselves and other people.
Another factor that explains the selfie mania among younger people is the need for validation. The feeling of adrenaline rush after posting a thoughtfully chosen selfie to social media makes selfies an all-consuming thing for teenagers. Then comes the whole euphoria...
