We expect too much from our heroes (essay)

For me, expecting something more is equal to idealizing a person. We are trying to recreate the picture in our head that this person is completely ideal and henceforth our ideals begin to demand more from the hero. If we take away from them their ability and right to be a human being - then yes, we expect too much. In truth, however, we may idolize the image without the recognition of their humanity. There may be a difficulty in the definition of heroism.
I will set an example with presidents. For some people, the leader of their country is a real hero, he is not just the main leader, he is a person who is always in sight, takes responsibility for the country and all its inhabitants. Such a responsibility makes serious demands on a person holding a high position. For example, one president finishes his work and is going to resign, then the elections begin. And they are won by the candidate who promised a lot of good things for the country, for example, big salaries, different projects, more jobs, in turn, the people, relying on this, voted for him and, as a result, began to demand from him as much as they were promised. But later people realize that asking for more, it turns out the opposite - they get little in return, so riots begin in the country. He should, like a good psychologist,...
