 We expect too much from our heroes.
“Great heroes need great sorrows and burdens, or half their greatness goes unnoticed. It is all part of a fairy tale” - once said Peter Soyer Beagle. I believe these words are indisputable truth. Our life is kind of a fairy tale, we encounter good and bad every day, we believe in miracles and we even consider that certain people could be empowered to do wonders. This point of view gives hope for the hard times, but sometimes our heroes cannot implement our dreams or expectations.
First of all, our desires are vastly personal and no one can perform better than the person who invented them. However, some people are simply too scared or too lazy to even aim. Everyone is good at telling others how things should be made, but only a few have the strength to grab the bull by the horns. Individuals like to imagine that a specific person will make his dreams come true. I have a great example from our everyday life. I think we all more or less have encountered this situation when our parents expect us to be the way they want us to be. Especially if you have not found your road. They try to reprove their children with their own “fix-ideas”. Parents keep telling their children they should become doctors or lawyers, open business companies only because they wish they were in those positions but aren't. Children, forced to realize their parent's unrealized dreams, feel incomprehensible, insignificant because their wishes are ignored, they are forced to engage in activities that they do not like and are not interested in. They may even feel unloved because parental love seems conditional: "Do as I told you, then I will love you." This is exactly what makes the...
