Travelling opened my eyes
Travelling is my favourite thing to do. It helps me practice English, meet new people, and experience different cultures and traditions. Every year, I travel to at least two countries. I’ve travelled to nineteen countries in total, four this year. All of those countries were in Europe except Turkey, which is in Asia. My favourite countries that I visited are France and Georgia.
A few months ago I visited Paris, France. Paris is known for its amazing food, the Eiffel Tower, and other historical landmarks. This wasn’t my first time in Paris, it was my second. I visited last year to see some historical landmarks and to try the amazing food like burgundy style cooked escargots and cooked frog legs with green sauce dip. This year I visited to go to Disneyland and I also brought some friends with me so it would be more fun! Disneyland was amazing. It had lots of extreme rides, but it also had some less adrenaline-packed rides but they were also great. There were also some Disney characters all around the park. You could interact with them and also take pictures with them. My favourite thing about the Disneyland Paris was the rides. My favourite ride was called Avengers Assemble: Flight Force. That roller coaster had my adrenaline pumping! It was super fast and had two loops. I went on it at least four times! My experience in Disneyland Paris is no less than a ten out of ten!
This summer I visited Georgia. I explored the whole country! From the beautiful and large mountains located in Stepantsminda which is in the north of Georgia to the rocky and warm beaches in Batumi. I spent ten days in Georgia and it was the perfect amount of time to explore the whole country. The first two days were in Tbilisi which is the capital and the biggest city in Georgia. I had an amazing time there. We tried the unique and delicious cuisine. We went to some fascinating markets and museums, one market was built underground! The last thing we did in Tbilisi was explore the city at night time because Tbilisi was even more beautiful during night time. The next day we visited the town of Sighnaghi which had astonishing views and welcoming people. The tour guide drove us to his house where we had a traditional Georgian dinner with his family which was amazing! The family cooked meat on a skewer with grape tree sticks which added a great aroma. On the fourth and fifth days, we travelled to Stepantsminda. We stayed in cabins which were surrounded by huge mountains, it was a unique experience. During our stay in Stepantsminda, we drove up to the high mountains with jeeps, it was really scary driving up those mountains but it was all worth it for the amazing views. While driving to Borjomi we visited the ancient caves of Vardzia. The Vardzia Monastery, located in the south of the country near the Turkish border, is one of the most impressive tourist attractions in Georgia. Built into the cliffs of the Erusheti Mountains during the 12th–13th centuries, it is an ancient city and monastery complex. This unique city was constructed by several Georgian rulers, but Queen Tamar contributed the most to this project. The town was built as a defensive fortress to protect against the constant attacks on Georgia by enemies. Its excellent strategic location allowed for easy defence or escape through secret tunnels from the danger zone. Later my family and I spent the next two days in Borjomi. Borjomi is a small beautiful city well-known for its mineral water springs. The national park is a very interesting area with many attractions and great hiking through the high trees. We also got some natural mineral water from the springs because it's free and very good for your health. You can also see the city from above with the cable car. I spent the last few days in Batumi. Batumi had rocky beaches which was a bit of a downside because there was no comfortable way of lying down but the sea water during August was warm. But Batumi is so much more than the beachside. The city has a charming old town which was recently renovated. Batumi also has nice and welcoming people. Georgia is a unique country in the true sense. Whether it is the geographical location, exceptional architecture, the culinary delights. This country is truly fascinating.
