The Art And Vilnius Architecture

The art has been leading people from the ancient time. All the nations both ours and ancestors’ sought to create according to “the law of beauty”. Nothing but the art could depict fullness and different aspects of the world. Owning to preserved works of art we learn about ancient times and nations that disappeared long ago. Even when other cultural issues such as language and literacy might be forgotten the art is left and presents appearances of ancient people, showing their thoughts and feelings, understanding of good and evel.
First work of art that are preserved until our times were created in the primal periods before about 60000 years. People did not have metals then and produced tools from stones. Because of that this period is called stone age.
From these times people were gaining knowledge and experience that reflected in the development of the art.
Vilnius is a culture city. Many artists live and create here; many varied culture institutions offer a chance to see our arts, listen to music of the local and performers.
There are lot of museums in the Old Town with interesting original and quality displays. Vilnius history and culture dates from he Stone Age to present which you will meet in the Lithuanian National Museum. The remains of a portion of the 16th century fortification is also a museum – Artillery Bastion, which tells about the colourful history of the town and about the city’s defence system. The branches of the Lithuanian Art Museum have been established in former nobles’ palaces, so they are always attractive and interesting. Some of the museums in Vilnius display exhibits not only from Lithuania but foreign countries as well.
