Promotion of linguistic skills

B – As we are members of the Students Council, we should to talk about linguistic skills.
A – I agree, we should decide how to contribute to the promotion of language learning among pupils.
A – Well, learning begins at primary school. It’s the start, because young kids learn very quickly.
B – You think that even the smallest children should start to learn foreign language?
A – Exactly, if you learned English, Spanish or French earlier, it would be much easier now.
B – Maybe you are right.
A – Which thing is more important: Mother tongue or foreign language?
B – I can’t tell you strictly, because you have to know your first language, but at the same time you need to learn foreign language.
A – Why it’s important to learn foreign language.
B – Well, you won’t get the job in another country.
A –Yes, it could cause some problems in foreign country.
B – It’s important in Lithuania too. You won’t be good specialist, if you don’t know any foreign language. But what are the reasons for students’ average or poor results in language?
A – I’m not sure. It’s important to have some linguistic skills, some talent for languages. But efforts are the main thing, in my opinion. We should work hard if we want to achieve good results.
B – But I thing that you should have good teacher if you want to learn...
