Starting with an introduction to pollution prevention, the author progresses through a review of pollution and its consequences and describes the regulatory framework under which the industry must operate. How sources of industrial pollution can be minimized, the methodology for conducting life-cycle assessments and developing successful pollution prevention plans, and technological means for minimizing the use of water, energy, and reagents in manufacturing. This book examines the sources and impacts of industrial pollution and how industry can minimize the negative environmental effects of manufacturing processes in economic way.
The production of waste is accelerating at a rapid pace all around the world. More country is industrialized, more people there are living, more waste there are providing, cause of rising demand for goods and services. Corporations are looking to increase their products selling on the world, that result is an ever-spiraling demand for goods, resulting more and more wastes. Despoiled air and water, hazardous waste dumps leaking their toxins into our groundwater supplies. It is increasing rates of deadly diseases such as cancer and others. Moreover it causes rapidly depleted resources, global warming, and damage to ozone layer witch protecting Earth from UV radiation.
Pollution prevention requires a holistic approach to waste management. Prevention approach considers the entire life of a product, from extraction of the raw materials from the earth through manufacturing to product use and finally to product disposal and possible recycling or reclamation, in order to find ways to minimize all environmental impacts. Author means that we can use materials that are less toxic or that are less scarce in the earth, finding more efficient manufacturing processes or processes that use less energy, designing new kind of products that make recycling after use easier, or one more idea is to create new packing materials that...
