"Inside the mind of a master procrastinator"

TED.com is a globally known website on which you can find a lot of short but powerful talks that are about almost everything: from science to business to global issues. This website unites a lot of different speakers all around the world. One of them is Tim Urban – a blogger and one of the Internet's most popular writers. Moreover, his talk, which has been uploaded on TED.com, is one of the most popular talks on the website.
Tim's talk is about something he is very familiar with – procrastination. In it he tells two stories about how he procrastinated in the past, the first one being about writing a 90 pages long thesis and the second one being about preparing for this talk. Both of these stories are perfect examples of procrastinating. Being a "professional' procrastinator Tim explains what is happening inside of every procrastinator's head. He believes that in every procrastinator's head there is a "Rational Decision-Maker" that makes the decision to do something productive and his enemy, the "Instant Gratification Monkey" which cares only about two things: easy and fun and can only be stopped by the "Panic Monster" which wakes up anytime a deadline gets too close. Tim says that this is the situation when the "Procrastination system" works but as the "Panic Monster" only shows up if there is a deadline, the "Procrastination system" doesn't work in those situations when the deadline doesn't exist such as exercising or taking care of your health.
