The integration into the European Union is one of the most crucial objectives of the Lithuania’s foreign policy. The European Union structural funds support to business, energy and public tuorism sectors in Lithuania
Ministry of Finance is the Managing Authority and the Paying Authority responsible for co-ordination the EU Structural Funds support in Lithuania.
Single Programming Document (SPD) is the key programming document that defines objectives, strategies, priorities and measures for the EU Structural Funds support distributions.
Intermediate Bodies (line ministries and Information Society Development Committee (ISDC) under the Government) are responsible for managing of particular SPD measures.
Ministry of Economy, as one of the intermediate bodies, is responsible for planning, implementation and monitoring of measures for business, energy and public tourism development.

I PRIORITY "DEVELOPMENT OF SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC INFRASTRUCTURE"
1.2 Measure "Ensuring of Energy Supply Stability, Accessibility and Increased Efficiency"
III PRIORITY "DEVELOPMENT OF PRODUCTIVE SECTOR"
3.1 Measure "Direct Support to Business"
3.2 Measure "Improvement of Business Environment"
3.4 Measure "Public Tourism Infrastructure and Services"
The total of 320 million EUR shall be granted to implement these measures during 2004-2006.
Support is provided to three categories of the projects submitted by either public or private applicants:
• Public projects
• Business investment projects
• Companies' research and technological development projects.
Different requirements are set for public, business and R&D projects.
Eligible expenditure
tangible investment (construction or reconstruction of buildings, communications, land, equipment, etc);
1. intangible investment
2. advisory (consultancy ) services;
Rate of assistance
Maximum size of the project can not exceed 172 million litas.
