Euro integration

One of the most relevant topics in Lithuania is about new currency which is going to appear on the beginning of 2007. Every day mass media and politicians talk about new currency in Lithuania. Politicians say how good is going to be for people when the currency will be changed. There have been made a lot of surveys to find out if people want to accept new currency in Lithuania or not. Only from them depend to agree or not to agree because only they will have to live with this change. It is really a big event for so little country. An independent survey was made to find out “if people really want what our national currency (Litas) would be changed into international one, like Euro and what causes make influent to people opinion”.
In this research work was chosen stratified sample. It was made a questionnaire of ten questions and the survey was made in the street. Stratified sample was chosen because the survey would be various and would be a possibility to compare varied groups of people. All respondents were divided to three different age groups from 18 to 30, from 31 to 45 and from 46 to 60 years old and from each group were asked 20 people. Another group was made by sex (male and female). Respondents were stratified and by the level of education. It was chosen students, people who ended university and not.
European currency. This research shows that 45% of respondents do not agree with changes of currency it is a little different from public opinion survey too because there do not accept changes about 40% of Lithuanians.
