Energy waste

•Energy waste means consumption of electricity, water and gas when that not performs any useful action. One of the main reason of energy waste is that technical devices are not managed and maintained properly.
• Without paying much attention, we use a lot of energy each day — from charging electronics to watching TV, travelling by cars and wasting too much drinking water.
• Energy consumption worldwide grew by 2.3% in 2018, nearly twice the average rate of growth since 2010, driven by the observed robust economy. More than 40% of the growth in 2017.
• Many of the energy sources we depend on, like coal, oil and natural gas, can't be replaced – once we use them up, they are gone forever.
• While we obliviously use up fossil fuels without taking stock of about what future reserves look like, we should take note of the endpoints shown here. These endpoints are dangerously close.
The lack of oil.
• Global oil demand grew by 1.3%. in 2018. Today oil supplies about 40% of the world’s energy and 96% of its transportation energy. The world has been consuming an equivalent of over 11 billion tonnes per year.
• Crude oil reserves are vanishing at a rate of more than 4 billion tonnes a year. Many oil wells have already peaked and new wells are becoming more difficult to find.
• The Earth has 53 years of oil reserves left at the current rate of consumption.
The lack of natural gas
• Gas totaled 23% of total energy demand, but grew at a 4.6% rate in 2018. Gas had the second highest share of total electricity generation at 23%, or 6,091 TWh.
