Ecological water purification system

Today I’m going to talk about the teenage girl invention that improved people’s

lives when she made ecological water purification system.

Lalita Prasida Sripada Srisai is a 13-year-old student from a small India village

that in 2015 won the ‘Community Impact Award’ at the Google Science Fair.

Her invention aimed to solve the pressing issue of pollution caused by

agricultural waste. By winning the award in the 13-15 years age group, she

received a trophy, 10,000 USD prize and also, a bursary to develop her

invention. And with this invention she made in big honor for her country and

helped a lot of people.

Corn is India’s third most important cereal crop after wheat and rice. However,

corn cobs are one of the most plentiful and important agricultural wastes. Corns

are boiled and eaten by the local farmers. But then left cobs are used as fuel,

resulting in air pollution and global warming. They are not even eaten by

animals as they choke from it. So, corncobs are found dumped in areas where
