Abstract
This report is about two cities: London and Kaunas. London is the capital of England and it is one of the most tourist beloved cities in the world. Kaunas city is a big city in Lithuania (Eastern Europe), but in comparison to London it looks just as a small village.
This report will glance into these two cities from the tourism point view. Moreover, it will help to analyse the tourism industry in those two cities and also help to understand that Eastern Europe is a beautiful and interesting holiday destination.
The main aim of this report is to compare one of the world’s biggest and developed cities tourism industry with a small and poor city in Eastern Europe; and to understand why these two cities are different, and why they are similar.
Research for this work was made by using the Internet, tourism journals and visiting the Kaunas Tourism Information Centre together with the Tourism Department of Lithuania. The hardest part was to collect all the information about Kaunas due to its lack and poor collaboration.
Introduction
Nowadays one of the most exciting pastimes is travelling. Travel and tourism industry is developing every day and a lot of people spend their free time travelling abroad or in their own country. One way to know where to travel is to think about where you want to go and what you want to see as well as what you want to do. Other people just think about most popular city in the world and go there. So the main idea in this work is to compare the most admired and trendy city in the world with one of the least popular, and to see if they have any similarities or they are totally different.
