Similarly, if an employer asks for your opinion on a colleague's performance and you give an honest but negative assessment, it could lead to workplace tension and possibly even job loss for that colleague.
In these situations, it may be tempting to lie or withhold information to avoid hurting others or creating negative consequences. However, dishonesty is not the answer either. Dishonesty can lead to a lack of trust and credibility, which can have even more damaging long-term effects.
