Agriculture is very important part of economics. Sometimes agriculture and farming are thought to be the same thing, but it is not exactly like that. Actually, farming is part of agriculture. Agriculture also includes the manufacture of farm suplies and the procesing and distribution of farm comodities and products made from them. As well as I know there is more and more machanization, so fewer peaple work on farms in Unites States. But agriculture bring the biggest part of job opportunities, because all the products from farms can be produced to food, clothes and other very important things. Because of the grawing market orentation of food and fiber processors, wholsalers, and retailers, many agricultural jobs are now located in metropolitan areas –cities and suburbs. The food and fiber system is an important source of rural jobs in every farm production region in the United States . Regions differ in the kinds of food and fiber jobs offered. The increase in demand for basic agricultural goods will ensure that the food and fiber system continues to be a vital component of the U.S economy.
A growing minority of farmers are choosing to live off the farm, often in town. And some people , who live on farms are not farm operators. But if we count all people in households that report having either a farm operator of income from farm self-employment, the total population of such house holds comes to just 2 percent of the total U.S. population . Despite the decline, and thanks to advances in technology, U.S. farms today produce much more than they ever did in the past. Many immigrants come to America seeking land, and many national origins are represented in the U.S. farming population .
