Air pollution threat

Air pollution is one of the biggest threats for the environment and it affects everyone: humans, animals, cities, forests, aquatic ecosystems. It kills around 7 million people each year and it can be classified in 2 sections: visible and invisible air pollution.
Invisible air pollution is less noticeable, but it can be more deadly. Good examples of it are sulfur dioxide, carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxides.
An example of visible pollution is smog. It is the most prevalent type of air pollution. Smog occurs when emissions from combusting fossil fuels react with sunlight.
1. The Burning of Fossil Fuels.
2. Agricultural activities. The use of insecticides, pesticides, and fertilizers in agricultural activities emit harmful chemicals into the air. And it can cause water pollution too.
3.Waste in Landfills. Landfills are land areas in which waste is deposited or buried. These wastes generate methane. Methane is a major greenhouse gas that is highly flammable and very hazardous.
4. Natural Events. There are certain natural events such as volcanoes, forest fires, and dust storms, which cause air pollution. Some air pollutants persist in the atmosphere and are carried long distances by the wind.
It is impossible to describe the whole extent of potential and actual damage caused by all forms of air pollution. But the main consequences are:
