Žuvintas rezervation

We could only agree that Zuvintas reservation is one of the most important Lithuania’s valuable nature objects. Its size is about 5400 hectares but the magnificent nature’s creation is facing many problems which should be coped very fast and effectively before it’s too late.
Reservation is located in the southern Lithuania. It includes the lake, which used to be 5 times bigger, and swamps around it. Reservation’s story began in 1937 when government took over the control of the huge territory and with the help of Tadas Ivanauskas, the most respected geography scientist, began it’s renovation and environmentally – friendly policy. Scientists noticed that the reservation features many endangered species of all kinds of animals and the sudden condition was so fragile, that any unwanted damage could cause a huge disaster in reservations life.
