Volunteering kalbėjimas

Hello, my name is Miglė and today I would like to talk about volunteering. First, let‘s make something clear. Volunteering is described as an unpaid activity where someone gives their time to help a not-for-profit organisation or an individual who they are not related to. Which means that helping your grandmother harvest some potatoes doesn‘t mean that you are volunteering and thus gaining the same karma points as someone who helps a blind person with their day to day chores. But more on that later.
First, let‘s talk about statistics. Here we are presented with a chart that shows reasons why people volunteer in Canada. Lowest answers in precentage are „my friends volunteer“ and „to meet new people“. Almost sixty percent of people said that they believe in volunteering, and seventy seven percent said that they are trying to get new experience. The most common answer to that question was „to help the community“.
I think not everyone I know would be up to volunteer. It takes a certain type of person, one who is more selfless and helping than not. I don‘t think my relatives would like to do such thing, but I am different. I used to volunteer and it was wonderful. I used to work in the botanical gardens, helping harvest some crops, collecting and drying herbs, and overseeing that events went smoothly. I loved volunteering not only because I gained some important skills such as how to tell one herb from another and communicate with other people, but also because I felt at peace. I was simply...
