• State might be life threatening

• Person does not react to stimuli
Possible causes
Injuries, heat, pain.
Unsafe enviroment
Hyperventilating, anxiety, shock.
Psychological state
Diabetes, epilepsy, stroke, dehydration.
Health conditions
Drug overdose, food poisoning, alcohol.
Consumed substances
Symptoms that may indicate that unconsciousness is about to occur
• Confusion
• Dizziness or lightheadedness
• Sudden inability to respond
• Slurred speech
• A rapid heart rate
If a person feels faint
Advise them to lie down
Make sure they are breathing
Make sure they have fresh air
Immediate actions of help provider
If the person who fainted has not stopped breathing, it is recommended to place them into recovery position:
If the person stops breathing
• Anything from the neck that may obstruct breathing must be removed
• CPR must be performed
• Airway
• Breathing
• Circulation
• Do not forget the ABC of resuscitation
