Should social media websites remove posts which spread misinformation?

Nowadays social media platforms are the most common sources of information because of how easy it is for people to gain knowledge on the internet. Unfortunately, in social platforms with unlimited data there are as much misguided news as truthful ones. It seems to me that online websites must delete posts which extend misleading information to majority of people on the internet, because of a few reasons.
Certainly, even kids on social media are victims of propaganda which changes their view about the world. Usually kids believe everything they see on social media because they are not able to distinguish between disinformation and the truth when it comes to controversial topics. This is the reason why a child who saw a racist or homophobic post with hurtful language and lies in social platforms, possibly would start using the same misleading information in real life.
