My native village: Babtai

The topic of my talk is my native village. I would like to begin by saying that Babtai is my native village. There I live since my birth.
Firstly, I would like to say, that Babtai is situated right in the center of Lithuania not far from Kaunas. There is a beautiful forest, quietly winding river the Nevezis, deep valleys and green meadows near Babtai. It is an old borough, which historic past is interesting and rich in events. Archeological excavations show that there was a settlement in a stone age. For the first time it was mentioned in the reports of the crusaders in 1386.the 14th century Babtai was the king's village and in the 17th century Babtai got the rights of Magdeburg and also a coat of arms. The coat of arms symbolizes the church and the former navigation along the river Nevezis. Several times our village suffered from fires.
