Everybody has their native town. So do I. My native town is Mažeikiai. It‘s not big town, but very lovely. There are many interesting places, museamus and so on. In Mažeikiai were born our famous writers, singers, artists, which proclaimed our town by their arts.

Mažeikiai has three cosy apartments to stay for night: hotel Laisvės 30 in Mažeikiai Old Town, 4 – star hotel „Astrum palace“ and a hotel „Vila Dubgiris“ in beautiful natural settings.

There are lot of places to eat in the city – Pizzeria „Uno momento“, grill and sushy bar „Avokadas“ and fast food restaurant „Hesburger“.

Entertainment is very important element. ANTANO ŽIRGAI invites to discover the joy of riding, the taste of adventure, the history of nature and an active pastime. Mažeikiai Sports School has a sports pool and sauna. SWIFT Arena has outdoor courts. There are 2 modern professional paddle tennis courts in the outdoor area of the arena.

We can visit places in the city to learn about its history. Mažeikiai starts with the railway station, the growth of our city started with the railway. In 1980, an oil refinery (now Mažeikių Nafta), which grew on the site of the village of Juodeikiai, started to operate, and the Polotsk-Mažeikiai oil pipeline was built. The Mažeikiai Public Library has been open since 1928, werecan find lots of information about your hometown.

The most modern building in Mažeikiai - a bridge over a railway. Other interesting buildings would be a church in the city centre and a cultural palace.
