Manned missions on Moon

My today`s topics are very special and unique due to their novelty and jaw-dropping effect in respect of certain time period. All five of my topics are corelated to the astronomy and space theme. The main reason for that is the mystery and eternity of space related questions. My list consists of the most remarkable achievements of mankind in this sphere. I was reading a book, which is designed as timeline of astronomical discoveries, so it is logical for me to present respectively, and for you to keep in mind how significant a certain accomplishment was for it`s era.
The first page of my presentation is Nicolaus Copernicus and his heliocentric theory of the universe. Before Copernicus it was believed, that Earth is the center of the whole universe. However, Copernicus made a statement that sun is the center of the universe. Nowadays it is obvious, that solar system is not the whole universe and it has a star-filled unbound space around, anyway. Even though the theory is very elegant and genius on it`s own, the passion for science of the personality is what attracts me the most in this story, the fact that in 16th century a man had so much courage and self-confidence to go against the Church, risking being accused of heresy is mind-blowing for me. To confirm, Copernicus started his research in 1508, but publishes the materials only in 1543, just weeks before his death, he was working on the development of his theory for 35 years.
Furthermore, equally outstanding is the publication of “Principia” Isaac Newton, in which he lays out his universal law of gravitation. He was the first person to realize that gravity is a universal force, acting on all objects, and that it explains the movement of planets. When he was describing planets` orbits...
