I’m going to talk about Louisa May Alcott’s book “Little women” that I red 3 years ago. This legendary novel writer who was born in 1832 is primarily remembered for her children’s classics, especially for Little Women and its sequels. She was however a multi-faceted personality, possessed of a deeply independent spirit and reforming energy. She was also active as a nurse and a suffragette. Her book LITTLE WOMEN, published on September 30, 1868, was an instant success and sold more than 2,000 copies immediately. It has gone on to become one of America's classics. Jo is Beth and Amy. Jo is main character of Little women. She is the second oldest of the March sisters, tall and skinny girl. Jo is an outspoken tomboy with a passion for writing. Her character is based in large part on Louisa May Alcott herself. Jo refuses Laurie’s offer of marriage, despite the fact that everyone assumes they will end up together. In the end, Jo gives up her writing and marries Professor Bhaer, which can be seen either as a domestic triumph or as a professional loss. Because she displays good and bad traits in equal measure, Jo is a very unusual character for nineteenth-century didactic fiction. Jo’s bad traits—her rebelliousness, anger, and outspoken ways—do not make her unappealing; rather, they suggest her humanity.
Beth is the third March sister, she is very shy and timid. She loves music and her doll collection and her many cats. Like Meg, she always tries to please other people, and like Jo, she is concerned with keeping the family together.
