Introduction
“Klaipeda is a sustainable and prosperous maritime city and Lithuania's fastest growing cultural and economic center, with a healthy, smart and responsible society 2022-2027.", has been prepared in accordance with the Lithuanian Tourism Development Programme 2014-2020, the Lithuanian Tourism Marketing Strategy 2016-2020, the Klaipeda Municipality Strategic Development Plan 2015-2017 and additional legislative acts of the European Union regulating tourism, innovation, communication development, and other recommendations.
There are 7 municipalities in the Klaipeda area (county), which is in western Lithuania. The Klaipeda region covers 5,222 km2 in total, or 8% of Lithuania's land area. 320 014 people make up the entire population, or 11.45% of all people in Lithuania. 61.2 people per km2 is the population density. The Klaipeda region in Lithuania is provided below (Figure 1).

Vision - Klaipeda will become Lithuania's fastest growing and most alluring city, attracting new inhabitants, companies, educational establishments, and visitors.
Goal - to consistently create the image of Klaipeda as an appealing city for both foreign and domestic tourists, to raise awareness of the city's name, to maintain the city's competitiveness in the global tourism market, to reduce the impact of seasonality, and to carry out coordinated marketing and communication activities.

Contracting authorities: Municipality of Klaipeda, the Department of Tourism, and the tourist information center TIC.
The strategy was prepared by a working group appointed by Klaipeda’s city municipality administration between the January of 2022 and September 2022.
Main tourism Resources
The competitiveness of Klaipeda was investigated by assessing the tourism resources available in the city and its surroundings. Klaipeda has 16 attractions, including parks, squares, a zoo, and a botanical garden.
