Is euthanasia moral?

In the world of practical ethics, individuals seem to agree on what is right and what is wrong, but people often disagree on the application of ethical ideas for euthanasia. By definition, it is the painless killing of a patient who is suffering from a terminal disease or is in a coma without any hope of waking up. Seems simple, but humanity has been having a very hard time deciding whether euthanasia is righteous.
Euthanasia has always been a contentious issue, and in this regard, the pre-modern philosopher known as Aristotle disagreed with the concept of this practice. He claims that those who choose euthanasia are merely cowards who rob society of their positive contributions. For example, American politician Willem Jewett was diagnosed with mucosal melanoma, which is a type of cancer and has only a 14 per cent 5 year survival rate. He had a lot of potential to make society greater by reinforcing new laws that may have changed us as people, but instead he chose to be euthanized, therefore the potential of greatness was lost.
Kant, on the other hand, holds the opposite view. While he believes that any suicidal desire is a disregard of one's reason or ability to make a decision, he also believes that “one should be allowed to take their own life if under unbearable suffering that cannot be cured or is terminal.“[1] There was a case of a young woman with chronic obstructive lung disease, who was in great pain every day, and could not find a place in a hospice.
