Goals of education

Hello, today I’d like to talk about goals of education.

The importance of education cannot be stated enough. It is necessary for the growth and development of every individual. It is the foundation upon which our society is built and the key of our future lives. The goal of education is to prepare students for the real world. Education is able to provide students with the knowledge and skills they need to be successful in their future careers. Education should also help students develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Now I’d like to move on to a quote said by Martin Luther King, Jr. He says and I quote “The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character – that is the goal of true education.” I personally agree with this statement. I think that education should teach us on how to think critically and to express our own opinions on various issues. Intelligence is important, but it’s crucial to have a character with it. Nowadays a person that is intelligent and has a good character is more likely to be successful in life than a person with intelligence alone.

Moving on to my next point, I’d like to talk about schools in Lithuania. Although I feel like schools here have a high standard of education, it would be hard to answer this question as education standards vary from school to school. Some factors that could be considered when determining if a country has high educational standards would be the quality of the teachers, the resources available to students, and the results of standardized tests. In general, a country with high educational standards would be one where students are able to acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to be successful in their future endeavors.
