Genetic modification

Today I want to discuss one of the most important environmental problems in 21st century. Genetic modification also called as genetic engineering. You may ask what is genetic modification? Well, it is a technique to change the characteristics of a plant, animal or micro-organism by transferring a piece of DNA from one organism to a different organism. DNA is responsible for every characteristic of an organism, for example, in humans; it’s responsible for eye colour, hair colour, height and so on.
Genetic modification requires different technologies and is a difficult process.
The pros of genetically modified food is a never-ending list. Genetic modification can ensure the taste and quality of food. For example, make an apple sweeter and pepper spicier.
Also Disease resistance. Resistance to disease was the main reason for genetic engineering research. Genetically modified foods exhibit great resistance to various diseases. Just like vaccine, genetic codes are implanted into foods to fortify their immune system.
And one of the most interesting feature is the production of vaccination. The use of molecular biology in vaccine creation has bore fruits so far. Biologists were capable of genetically engineer flora to generate vaccines.
