Jaan Kross
Jaan Kross is one of Estonia’s best-known and most beloved writers. In 1944, he graduated from the Faculty of Law at the University of Tartu.
Kross's novels and poetry, which deal with the relationships between truth, madness, and power, have been published in 23 languages. Thus, Jaan Kross is Estonia's most-translated writer. World-wide, his works have sold over 1 million copies.
Piusa caves
Onward to the Piusa Sand caves. The caves consist of friable Devonian sandstone, unconsolidated and loose. Locals and tourist have frequently carved initials and graffiti into it; even with a finger it is possible. The sand is amazingly clean and fine, few if any stained layers; must be aeolian dunes. The caves are awesome, 10 meter vaulted ceilings in a maze of tunnels cut by "miners" removing sand in blocks for refining and melting into glass.
