Compare and contrast two caracters of the book "Educating Rita"

The two main and only characters Frank and Rita are very different in their personalities and backgrounds. When Rita came to the Open University, she was a naïve girl with a very strong opinion about everything in life. She would say everything she thinks, everything what’s in her head. Rita is uneducated, but she wants to learn and prove herself and her husband that she can be an educated, well – mannered women. Rita is cocky, she doesn’t know anything about literature, she never finished any school and had never taken an exam before. Finally she decided to make a major change in her life. In addition, she succeeded, unlike Frank. She got the education, she got everything she wanted – she became an educated, strong, independent and self-confident woman, who knows what she wants. She does not need anyone’s help any more. Rita does not care what Frank says anymore, because she knows everything. However as she gains the education, she loses her sweet and careless personality as well as her originality. Frank likes Rita because of her personality; he felt her uniqueness from the very beginning when he said: 'I think you're the first breath of air that's been in this room for years‘.
Rita becomes more like others, she loses her individuality. She changes her hair, buys new dresses, does everything what her friends or her mate – Trisha does. Rita says: ‚Trish says that no matte how difficult I may find it I must preserve‘‚I have to persevere in order that I shall‘. She would have never said it before. After this, Frank asks her to just be herself, as she used to. However, now, she can talk to students’ ‚down there, on the grass’ she can tell them they are talking rubbish, because now she knows...
