Today we live in a world where most are directly or indirectly affected cancer - some live with him, while others have such experience in the family or between friends. Cancer affects each, despite neither gender, nor age, nor status in society. Cancer is one of the predominant causes of death worldwide and particularly in developing countries. It is a disease careless of no one nation or culture. The 4th of February is the Day of Global Fight Against Cancer.
It is a pity, but every year more than seven million people die from cancer and nearly 11 milion new cases are diagnosed. More peolpe died with cancer than HIV, malaria and tuberculosis together. Lithuanias are ill malignant tumour more and more often. Incidence of cancer diseases increased by 55% compared to 1990. At present in Lithuania malignant tumors affecting about 1.8% of the population.
