Why do people shop?

Why do people shop? It is the question from which I would like to start my presentation about quite essential and everyday theme-making shopping. The answer varies according to the majority of aspects. So, some points should be clarified in order to find the right answer to the previous question. The first aspect will put in the picture with the following point- what is shopping considered to be? If it is not social motives then some economic aspects should be found out. So, the second point as price influence on consumer behaviour should be taken into consideration. The presentation will be completed with information about influence of advertisement. All in all, conclusions will be made to answer day to day question.
Is shopping job or a kind of adventure? The answer depends on each consumer’s personality. If consumer doesn’t like to shop then he feels like being dragged to a mall. For that percentage of consumers who consider shopping to be a work or even a horror film marketers should try to suggest the shopping process as easy as it is possible. It could be implemented with sore-maps, quicker checkout lines, etc. Opposite to mentioned consumers there is not so small percentage of them who prefers shopping quite often. If shopping is considered to be fun then more reasons should be found to make it both longer and more often.
