Use of mobile phones in the classroom

In 1983 the first handheld cellular phone was introduced to the public. It allowed people to make long distance calls and it did not require any lines or cords to be attached to make a call. Over the years mobile phones have advanced to the point where trillions of gigabytes can fit in the palm of your hand. Although cellphones have been proven to be incredibly useful with their large variety of capabilities, many people are unsure if they should be allowed in classrooms.
There are a number of benefits to the use of cellphones during classes. Firstly, having mobile devices in the classroom allows students instant access to many reliable information sources. Therefore, students are able to find and learn new details about their subjects, that were not discussed in class. Secondly, cellphones can be used as memory aids.
