The painting of John Constable

Today I will present the painting that was made by an English landscape painter John Constable. This work of art is titled „The Hay Wain“ and is regarded as "Constable's most famous image" and one of the most impressive English paintings. First I am going to talk about what is shown in the picture, the techniques that the painter used, and then I will tell what this painting symbolyses.

At first glance, the painting depicts a rural scene in England. In the foreground of the image there are three strong horses pulling a wooden wain which is full of hay. They're crossing a shallow river, and you can see their reflection in the water. In the background there are tall beautful trees with leaves that are gently swaying in the breeze. The grass is lush and green. It covers the ground like a soft carpet, making everything look inviting. The sky above is blue with fluffy white clouds lazily floating by.
