Hello, today I will be talking about smart buildings. So, the purpose of this presentation firstly is to address the definition of a smart building, secondly, get to know the features of such buildings. thirdly, quickly look through some of their benefits and lastly, carry out a few examples of intelligent buildings.
in the construction field smart buildings are taking bigger and bigger percentage of the built buildings. And the explanation to that is pretty simple, smart buildings improve people’s life’s, they take of as it is said a lot of weight off of their shoulders, they bring more easiness. And today we will look up how exactly they do it.
So, what is a smart building?? There are a lot of definitions for this combination of words and on of them says that it is a building with smart infrastructure that obtains information on how to automate different processes such as lighting, parking, video surveillance and so on.
the key in intelligent buildings is the ability of the IoT devices to connect with each other. Thanks to their connection the needed data can be easily shared.
Moving on, I will discuss the features of these buildings.
Firstly, we have the connection to building systems. A modern building incorporating the latest technologies connects all the equipment and systems that exist in a building. In this way, you can be informed of what is happening in real time and have the possibility to access the historical records of what happened a few minutes, hours or days ago. This allows to act on the building’s systems remotely in case of an emergency.
Thirdly we have the control of building’s expenditure The use of technologies to build intelligent buildings allows their users to reduce the money spent on different supplies such as heating, light, water, etc.
