Was a period in European history marking the transition from the Middle Ages to Modernity and covering the 15th and 16th centuries.

• The Renaissance is seen as a period of rebirth from the Dark Ages of Europe to the more enlightened and progressive ages of Europe.

• Leonardo da Vinci (1452–1519): Italian painter, architect, inventor, and “Renaissance man” responsible for painting “The Mona Lisa” and “The Last Supper”.
