I am writing to you to nominate MMA as a new Olympic sport for upcoming games in 2021. This sport has been one fastest growing one in the world and it carries all the needed attributes of an Olympic sport. It would be beneficial both for the sport and the Olympic games itself, as the introduction of new, popular sports would make the Olympic games more relevant to the younger generations of sport fans.
Global popularity of the sport is a very important factor in deciding if the sport is fit for the Olympic games and MMA without doubt can be said to be global. The sport is practiced throughout the world, from USA over to Asia. And it is still rapidly expanding, there are plans to organize new events in countries such as Brazil and England. Being a global sport, MMA fulfils the requirement that an athlete from one country must have adversary from other countries to compete against.
