Monologue about beauty

Today I would like to talk about the concept of beauty. Beauty has always been an important part of human life, but its meaning has changed over time. Nowadays, we can notice a real shift: it is no longer just about flawless looks but also about confidence, individuality, and the ability to express yourself in your own way.

Let me start by comparing the two photographs. I can see that they both refer to the idea of beauty and how people choose to present themselves. In the first picture, there is a young woman who is having her makeup done with a brush and powder. She is smiling, and this suggests that she enjoys makeup. In the second picture, however, we see a man with visible tattoos on his face. His expression is more serious.

If we compare the photos, both people used tools to make their faces more beautiful. The woman uses cosmetics to create a polished look, while the man uses fashion and tattoos to stand out. In contrast, their approaches are very different: the woman represents more traditional beauty ideals, where smooth skin and makeup are often linked with attractiveness. The man, on the other hand, shows that beauty can be about self-confidence, and going against mainstream expectations.

Next, I would like to point out the factors that influence people’s perception of beauty. To start with, the media plays a huge role. Social media, advertisements, and movies constantly show us who or what is considered attractive. The problem is that many of these images are filtered or edited, creating unrealistic expectations. Young people spend hours on their phones, developing an addiction to scrolling through “perfect” pictures. This can easily lead to feelings of insecurity or even depression, when they feel they can never measure up.
