Krakow City

The population of this city is 1.4 million dwellers. It is one of the oldest and largest cities in Poland. Krakow’s first appearance in historical records dates back to the 8th century. It was a major centre of trade. Later, as the capital of a powerful state, it became a heyday centre of science and the arts. Krakow is a vibrant, cosmopolitan city with a great cultural and historical dignity, which provides a glorious backcloth to all the fun. It is a great place if you want to get away after a hard day’s slog or just wind down with company of friends. There is so much to do that it will be difficult to put your finger on it.
For a backpackers or tourists I suggest visit the most striking and awe- inspiring places such as The Royal Castle and The Cathedral. Wawel Royal Castle is a symbolic place of great significance for Polish people. Many people attracts by this place. It is Poland’s national sanctuary in the city of Krakow. It has 1000- years’ history and was the traditional coronation site of Polish monarchs. The Cathedral (The Cathedral Basilica of St. Stanislaus and St. Wenceslaus) is famous by its people who are buried there. The Servant of God Pope John Paul II considered being buried here. There are also other famous people buried in the Wawel Cathedral, such as Tadeusz Kosciuszko, Jozef Pilsudski, Adam Mickiewicz, and Cyprian Norwid.
The Symbol of Wawel Hill is dragon. It is a famous dragon in polish folklore. Early history tells the story about fearsome dragon who laired in a cave under Wawel Hill on the Banks of the Visla river.
