(To begin with I would like to talk about what kinds of sport are popular in Lithuania) Lithuania is a small European Baltic country with a population of less than 3 million people. Though it is small, but its people are really passionate about basketball. Many even call it their “second religion”. Even in European basketball championships, Lithuania’s basketball team “Žalgiris” ranks pretty high. In Lithuania basketball, football, ice skating and athletics are the most popular types of sports.
(To continue I would like to talk about what kind of sports I like the most and what makes it attractive to me) There are many kinds of sports in Lithuania, but for me personally swimming is the best kind of sport. Whenever I swim, I feel the terrific feeling overwhelming me. Not only I feel calm while I’m swimming, but also, I temporarily forget all of my problems and stress, and just concentrate on that exact moment. Besides, it is really healthy for the body, and especially for the back, to swim.
(Now I would like to talk about who is the best sportsman/woman in Lithuania and why) Now, to answer which sportsman or sportswoman is the best in Lithuania, I would like to say, that there are many sportsmen and sportswomen in Lithuania, who’ve achieved a lot of in their history of sport. But in my personal opinion, Arvydas Sabonis is the best sportsman in Lithuanian sports history. Not only, has he won multiple basketball championships, but he is also an NBA champion and has also won a lot of competitions in America.
