Karl Friedrich Benz

• German engine designer and car engineer who designed and built the world's first practical automobile powered by and internal-combustion engine in 1885. Today he is known as the founder of Mercedes-Benz.
• Karl Benz was born on November 25, 1844 in Karlshure, Germany. Benz attended a local Grammar School and became a prodigious student. Later on, he went to Karlsruhe Polytechnic University. Benz began his work on a two stroke engine hoping he could find new income. In 1879, he received his first patent. Later, he founded his first company, "The Irony Foundry and Machine Shop, " a building material supplier.
Original car called the Motorwagen was a three wheel car that first ran in 1885 Four wheeled car was produced in 1893. First of its series racing cars in 1899.
Important feature of Benz's vehicle was an electrical ignition system that used a battery to start the engine. This system became the basic model for all later ignitions.
Benz finished his two-stroke engine on 31 December 1879.Karl Benz showed his real genius, however, through his successive inventions registered while designing what would become the production standard for his two-stroke engine.
Karl Benz is widely credited as the inventor of Carburetor because he was a well known mechanical engineer and car scientist. As we can say that, carburetor was already invented in variety of forms by different scientists but the shape of modern carburetor was laid by this great scientist.
